Wednesday Whatever Day
Today's topic is book trailers.
Recently, I asked Steve Meltzer (editor at Dutton, and Dial) this question. If he received a query with a link to a book trailer would he take a look?
His answer--most definitely, yes!
Luckily, my husband is skilled in the use of computers, and made me a trailer for one of my projects. I've done major revisions on this story, changed the title, and character names but you still get the idea. He's going to revise and use some new fancy tools to make it even better.
Here is the old version:

I'm wondering what book trailers you've seen and liked? Or trailers you've hated? And why?

It’s May!
April is over. A bittersweet month. My birthday is in April--good. The slight from a friend ( or who I thought was a friend) in a past April, still makes me sad. But, the month is over so bring on May and all that it may have in store.Recently, a picture book I had written years ago, resurfaced in the form of an editor asking to review a dummy of the book. I took a break from my WIP to construct it.WIP going well. I'm meeting with a wonderful agent in June to review my first fifteen pages with her, I'd like to have the rough manuscript done by that time. I must resist the urge to send it out to early. Are you good at waiting or do you rush forward prematurely? I hope I've learned my lesson.
Jenn Hubbard’s wonderful idea
My friend, Jenn Hubbard, had a fantastic seed of an idea that grew and grew and grew... Wanting to give back to the libraries that have enriched our lives, Jen organized a blog donation rally. Some gave a set amount of money per comment within a certain time frame and others gave a flat donation. What a wonderful idea. I dropped off my donation today and it felt really good. Thanks Jenn. It’s been quite some time…
...but I intend to be more vigilent in tending to my blog. Now, if I could only make this promise to my garden. I've been working on three novels. Two are finished but not as polished as I would like them to be. Book 1 is being read by a new beta reader. Book 2 is being read by hubby. Book 3 is being developed using a method called the snowflake method. This method is very structured (so not me) and my husband (the engineer) loves it. He's walking me through so that I don't hop over the parts that bore me. We'll see how it works. So far, with his help, it seems to be going well.On Kristen Nelson's blog, she announced that vampires and werewolves are out. Boo, since Book 1 is a werewolf theme---hopefully it is different enough to garner attention.coll
